Silver Hart

This 2023 Chenin Blanc was hand picked from a vines situated against a rocky ravine on the Oregon side of the Columbia Gorge. We carried the magnificent pale green clusters back to our winery, pressed the grapes, and let the juice settle for 48 hours before racking into once-used Damy puncheons (500-liter French Oak barrels). The wine fermented quickly and developed savory flavors to surround the high acidity. It aged 10 months in barrel with gentle stirring once per month through the spring and into summer. The resulting wine is beautiful, solemn, and pure. It has layers of complexity ranging from the beeswax and soft spices in its aroma, the ripe pear and stone fruit on the mid palate, and the honey vanilla found in the finish. Silver heart is excellent in youth and will improve for ten years or more.
