Ancient Shores

This 2020 Chardonnay was grown at roughly 450-foot elevation, at a remarkable place in the southwestern slope of the Eola-Amity Hills. Millions of years ago this hillside was a shoal in an ancient inner-sea where salt water lapped gently against the sand. Now, fossilized sandstone and petrified wood lay inches beneath the soil. When standing on this crest we have a panoramic view of the fertile, forested valley below, while the resulting wine is still imbued with the ocean presence that hides beneath these vines.
